There’s something special about capturing the innocence and purity of a newborn baby. Each yawn, every delicate stretch, and the way their family loves on them—these are the moments that are so special to document as a photographer. Recently, I had the incredible privilege of photographing the newest addition to a loving family, the adorable Lilah.
Throughout the session, she was an absolute dream to photograph. She slept so peacefully throughout our time together making it so easy to capture intimate close-ups of her tiny fingers to heartwarming family portraits. Her siblings were so much fun and loved to jump and play around her. Sweet Lilah slept through it all. I love the mix of gentle and playfulness that newborn sessions can bring when there are older siblings. It creates a fun dynamic to photograph.
When I get to photograph newborns I can’t help but reflect on the beauty of new life and the importance of cherishing these fleeting moments. Time passes by in the blink of an eye, but photographs have the power to freeze these precious memories in time, allowing us to relive them again and again. As a photographer, I am honoured to play a small role in preserving these cherished memories for generations to come.
